Optional Activity: Create an Activity

Learning Outcome: Examine and reflect upon the potential for equitable access for all learners in online and open learning contexts.


I created a lesson plan for a grade four Science class on Matter. This activity allowed me the opportunity to critically examine the steps taken to facilitate learning through an open design. I made sure to follow UDL guidelines to create a framework that allowed for multiple means of representation, multiple means of action and expression, as well as multiple means of engagement. This will support the inclusion of student voice and meet the needs of the individual learner.


Below is the link to the lesson plan designed for face-to-face instruction. However, it illustrates adaptations that can be used for a blended or online instruction model which will allow for a more open design.
